Persons who purchase Real Property at the sale are required to furnish to the officer conducting the sale, a Bidder Authorization Form, (statement of no taxes due) issued by the Jefferson County Tax Assessor Collector's Office, Jefferson County Courthouse, 1st Floor, 1149 Pearl Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701. The form must be issued in the name of the person or entity bidding on the property. There will be a cost of $10.00 cash to issue the form. The form must be purchased no later than the day before the sale. The Bidder Authorization Form may not be purchased the day of the sale. The Bidder Authorization Form is also available on the Jefferson County website - http://www.co.jefferson.tx.us/ . If you are purchasing property in the name of a company, you must provide a copy of the Assumed Name Certificate, which can be obtained from the Jefferson County Clerk's office or website, or a Franchise Tax Account Status, with a list of the officers and Directors, which may be obtained from the Texas Comptroller's Office website. If you are not an officer or director of the company, you must also provide a letter on company letterhead and signed by an officer or director, giving you authorization to bid on behalf of the company.
